Nancy Tankersley - Director/Instructor
Co-owner of the South Street Art Gallery, Nancy has five years experience in sponsoring workshops taught mostly by her gallery artists. In addition to being a full time artist who is represented in other galleries as well as her own, Tankersley has a growing reputation as a skilled teacher and jurist. Credited as one of the primary founders of the successful Plein Air-Easton!, Tankersley continues to serve as Artist Advocate on the Executive Board. The Easton Studio & School was founded in July 2009 as a partnership between two professional artists, Louis Escobedo and Nancy Tankersley, and their spouses Yolanda and Carl. These four partners shared a vision of establishing a well known, widely respected facility which would teach representational painting via regular weekday classes and weekend workshops. Both Escobedo and Tankersley recognized that much of their own growth as artists has resulted from focused teaching, which can only be obtained through weekly classes and intensive workshops.
Both artists hope to offer similar opportunities to others, in an effort "to pass it along".

Louis Escobedo - Director of Faculty/Instructor
Born in Texas, Louis Escobedo earned a BFA and has been painting most of his life. His pursuit has garnered him numerous successes and awards including "Best of Show” for the National Oil Painters of America Exhibit, a Gold Medal from the Society of Illustrators in New York, and the Top 100 in the National Arts for the Parks. Louis relocated to Maryland in 2003. He has previously conducted workshops in Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. Additional information is available at www.louisescobedo.com.
